Hande Şeker, a trans woman in Izmir’s Alsancak district, was killed by a police bullet this morning (9.1.2019). Hande's killer was allegedly a friend of Hande's client. 

According to the information provided by the friends and neighbors of Hande Şeker, Pembe Hayat learned;

The trans female sex worker Hande Şeker, who works in the Alsancak district of Izmir, was attacked by her client who came to her house early in the morning and an argument  started between them.


A police officer who was waiting in front of the house of Handle and alleged to be a friend of her client, after hearing the voices of controversy, he entered into the apartment and fired his gun.

Handle was killed by police bullets in the incident, while her roommate, another trans women were slightly injured.

Handle’s roommate was taken to the Bozyaka Homicide Bureau for testimony after treatment at the hospital. Health status is reported to be good.

"I opened fire because I thought my friend was attacked," police officer said in his statement.
